- Cultural initiatives of the Consulate General of the United Arab Emirates in São Paulo contribute to reinforce the bonds of friendship and cooperation between Emirati and Brazilians.
- The largest cultural program offered by the UAE to Sao Paulo - and to Brazil and the world - is the Zayed Sustainability Award. Created in 2008 by Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the United Arab Emirates Armed Forces.
- More than 318 million people have been directly or indirectly impacted by the sustainability solutions and school projects of the 76 award winners since the first awards ceremony in 2009.
- It is worth remembering that four public schools have reached the Zayed Award finals. Another cultural field, in which the Consulate has been very active since its opening in 2013, is book publishing.
- In 2019, a book of short stories by well-known Brazilian authors was translate to Arabic and published. In 2018, the Emirate of Sharjah was the guest of honor at the 25th International Book Biennial of Sao Paulo.About 40 books by Emirati authors were translated into Portuguese and released during the event.
- It is worth to remember that the Emirate of Sharjah is a publishing center with a strong presence in the book market. Still in the publishing area, Mr. Williander Salomon, Professor of International Law and Human Rights, published the book "Discover the United Arab Emirates", with the support of the Consulate General. Professor Salomon’s work is the first book written in Portuguese on the UAE´s history, and it informs readers on the UAE’s Leadership, culture, economy, as well as on UAE´s innovations and visions for the future, which impress everyone. The Consulate also gives periodic presentations on Emirati culture and society in schools and universities in the state of São Paulo.
