- The Relations between both countries were officially instated on March 11th, 2010.
- on November - 2017 the Republic of Costa Rica inaugurated their embassy in Abu Dhabi while the United Arab Emirates Embassy was officially opened in Costa Rica in August - 2018.
- In 2019, the Foreign Commerce Promotion Agency of Costa Rica opened a business office through the Commerce and Industry Chamber at Dubai.
- Both countries continue to aspire to strengthen their relations and cooperation especially in fields such as Sustainable Development, Renewable Energies, and investment reciprocity.
- Taking into account that Costa Rica is considered one of the main leaders regarding environmental protection which works perfectly within the UAE’s desire to become a global green economy, renewable energy and Sustainable development center.
