  • India and UAE have shared trade links through the centuries. Growing India-UAE economic and commercial relations contribute to the stability and strength of a rapidly diversifying and deepening bilateral relationship between the two countries. India and UAE have established strong partnerships in the fields of commerce, trade and Investment. This partnership is expanding, diversifying and emerging into a strategic partnership with emphasis on cooperation in Defense, Energy, Space and IT sectors.
  • The traditionally strong bilateral relations enjoyed by India & UAE received impetus with the visit of Prime Minister of India Shri. Narendra Modi  to UAE on 16-17 August 2015 that marked the beginning of a new strategic partnership between the two countries. 
  • H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of UAE Armed Forces, visited India in from February 2016. H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan visited India again in January, 2017 as the Chief Guest at India’s Republic day celebrations. It was during this visit that the bilateral relations were upgraded to a ‘Comprehensive Strategic Partnership’. 
  • Prime Minister of India Shri. Narendra Modi  visited UAE again in February 2018 for the 6th World Government Summit in Dubai, where India was the Guest of Honor; he also met H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE & Ruler of Dubai. 
  • Prime Minister of India Shri. Narendra Modi visited UAE again in August 2019 to receive the UAE's highest civilian award, 'the Order of Zayed’ that was conferred on him by the UAE President in April 2019.
