The bilateral relations between the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are very historical and friendly. The relations between the two countries during the reign of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud witnessed a remarkable development in all fields due to their common vision and goals.

In May 2016, an agreement was signed to establish the UAE-Saudi Coordination Council with the aim of:

  • A common vision between the two countries to consolidate and sustain their bilateral relations within the objectives of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf. Enhancing the integration of the economic system between the two countries and finding innovative solutions for the optimal use of existing resources. Building an integrated educational system based on the strengths of both countries to prepare highly qualified generations. Strengthening the political, security and military cooperation between the two countries in an integrated manner to enhance the security of the two countries. Effective implementation of opportunities for cooperation and partnership between the two countries, through a clear mechanism and an integrated methodology for measuring performance to ensure the sustainability of the plans.
