- The first economic relations between Republic of Serbia and United Arab Emirates occurred in second decade of 21th century. Continuity of economic relations between Serbia and UAE dated from 17th of February 2013 when Interstate Agreement of Cooperation has been signed.
- The importance of the agreement signed between the two countries is reflected in the opening of opportunities for improving economic cooperation and realization of series mutual economic projects.
- It is rare case that economic relations are placed in front of the political relations as it is the case with Serbia and the United Arab Emirates.
- The United Arab Emirates represent an economic force in the world with the fastest pace of development and the choice of Serbia for strategic partners allow Serbia regional progress on the economic front.
- Economic cooperation between the Republic of Serbia and the United Arab Emirates, is based on very strong basis that contributed to a number of investments, such as:
• Investment of ETIHAD airline into JAT (Air Serbia).
• Investment from company Al Rawafed into Serbia agriculture.
• Investment of Al Dahra in Rudnap Agrar.
• Investment of Eagle Hills into mega project Belgrade Waterfront.
• The establishment of the first bank from United Arab Emirates in Serbia, Mirabank.
• Investment of Mulk Holdings UAE in ALUBOND EUROPE.
• Kopaonik Property Investment LLC.
• Investment of Masdar/Tesla Wind in Vetroelektrane Balkana.
• Investment of ELITE AGRAR LLC in agriculture (Zobnatica, Yugo Elit Agro, Elite Hrvest).
• Investment of CIRTA in AIRPORT CATERING BELGRADE.
• Investment of Al Dahra in PKB Corporation.
• Investment of P&O Port Dubai in Luka Novi Sad (2019).
- The commodity exchange between the Republic of Serbia and the UAE has been growing steadily since 2014, to reach almost 162 million USD in 2019. The cooperation between the Republic of Serbia and the UAE widely opened the door for many new investments especially into field of agriculture, energy sector, defense and tourism.
- As a proof of this exceptional cooperation, in November 2019, the Business Club of the United Arab Emirates and Republic of Serbia was established. This prominent association gathers the companies from the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Serbia doing a business between the two markets.
