The UAE enjoys vibrant and growing economic relations with the Hellenic Republic, and the two countries have succeeded, through their joint efforts, in building a sustainable and diversified partnership that carries promising and renewed prospects for growth, and it always seeks to strengthen this partnership according to a new vision that focuses on the future and how to benefit from technology in achieving the desired economic development for the two countries. The existing cooperation with Greece is characterized by the diversity of its sectors, and there are successful Emirati investments hosted by Greece in many vital economic activities, such as pharmaceutical industries, infrastructure development, shipbuilding, and agricultural projects, in addition to the UAE’s keenness to expand existing areas of economic work to include various strategic and future sectors. Such as the circular economy, renewable energy, tourism, aviation, information and communications technology, financial and banking technology, food security, and sustainable transportation, in line with the UAE’s vision for the next fifty, and the development strategies adopted by the Republic of Greece.

  • Greek exports to the UAE witnessed an increase of 12% during 2023 compared to 2022, while UAE exports to Greece grew by 193% in 2023 compared to 2022.
  • The volume of foreign direct investment from the UAE in Greece in 2021 reached (47) million euros (and the total from 2002 until 2022 reached (553) million euros (source: Bank of Greece).
  • The partnership between the two countries was strengthened in the field of energy, in the areas of energy transformation, petrochemicals, sustainable and clean energy, and the exchange of knowledge, skills and technical expertise, and digital and government services as well, with cooperation regarding digital activities and government services.In addition to food and agriculture, with cooperation in the fields of food, agriculture and fisheries, and the promotion of projects and relevant partnerships to enhance their common food security strategies and goals.
