The UAE-Jordanian relations are historical, deep-rooted and strong, on the ground of the constructive and continuous cooperation and coordination at all levels and fields.

Political relations between the two countries

The Jordanian-Emirati political relations are witnessing continuous development and distinction.  Jordan is considered one of the first countries to recognize the establishment of the UAE, and this took place on the day following the declaration of the establishment of the state on 02/12/1971. The Jordanian government decided on December 3, 1971 to recognize the UAE and welcomed the establishment of Full diplomatic relations with it, and the Royal Decree was issued on December 8, 1971, approving the Jordanian Cabinet’s decision, which included recognition of the UAE and the exchange of diplomatic representation with it at the level of ambassadors.

The UAE embassy was inaugurated in Amman in July 1973, when the first ambassador of the UAE, His Excellency Dr. Sheikh Faisal bin Khalid Al Qasimi was appointed as an accredited ambassador to Jordan.

Political relations exceeded their traditional scenes as a result of coordination and cooperation at the highest levels. Both countries sought to maintain stability and security, and to strengthen brotherly mutual ties, until they exceeded official boundaries and reached the relationship of brotherhood, social and special visits between the leaders of the two countries, as well as the great harmony in the positions of both countries regarding all Arab, Islamic and humanitarian issues in all regional and international forums of common interest.
