The United Arab Emirates and the Federal Republic of Germany share a strong and growing strategic partnership, with broad cooperation across key areas including the economy, energy, technology, and sustainability. High-level exchanges continue to strengthen bilateral relations, including the visit of H.E. Friedrich Merz, Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, to the UAE in February 2026.
Cooperation is further advanced through established bilateral mechanisms, including the UAE-German Joint Economic Commission, the German Emirati Joint Council for Industry and Commerce (AHK), and the Emirati-German Energy and Climate Partnership, which support coordination and the development of new opportunities for cooperation.
