H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed gets phone call from Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Greece
The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece Evangelos Venizelos had today, Wednesday 29 January, a telephone conversation with H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Foreign Minister.
During their talks, the two Foreign Ministers discussed the preparations for holding in Abu Dhabi a Joint Ministerial Committee and Business Forum between Greece and the UAE, as well as ways to further enhance the cooperation of the European Union and Greece with the United Arab Emirates.
In this context, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece reiterated to his Emirati counterpart that it is a priority and commitment of the Greek Presidency of the EU Council that all necessary procedures aiming at lifting the obligation of UAE citizens to obtain a Schengen Visa be concluded the soonest possible, a goal for the positive outcome of which Greece played from the outset a protagonist and very supportive role in the relevant EU institutions.
On this occasion, Venizelos conveyed to H.H. Sheikh Abdullah the warmest wishes of the President of the Hellenic Republic for speedy recovery of the President of the United Arab Emirates His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
