Her Excellency Reem Ebrahim Al Hashimy
UAE Minister of State for International Cooperation, Director General, Expo 2020 Dubai Bureau
In February 2008, Her Excellency Reem Al Hashimy was sworn in as Minister of State in the cabinet of the United Arab Emirates. Since her ministerial appointment, she has managed the International Affairs Office of the UAE Prime Minister, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. She also holds responsibilities within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for the UAE's bilateral relations with India, Pakistan, the countries of Sub-Saharan Africa and the Small Island Developing States (SIDS). In February 2016, she was appointed Minister of State for International Cooperation.
HE Reem Al Hashimy is also Director General of Expo 2020.
Chairperson of the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Authority, she contributes to the authority's mission to strengthen and enhance the UAE's national data and competitiveness capacities. She also serves as a chairperson for Dubai Cares, a philanthropic organisation that aims to improve access to primary education in developing countries.
Prior to her position as Minister of State, she served as commercial attaché, as subsequently as deputy chief of mission at the UAE Embassy to the Unites States of America, in Washington DC.
HE Reem Al Hashimy holds a Bachelor's Degree in International Relations and French from Tufts University, and a Master's Degree from Harvard University.
